Hair Trend: Fun Up-dos

Emma Stone has been sizzling on the red carpet recently while promoting films, The Help and Crazy, Stupid, Love (Ryan Gosling <3) and her hair-do from last night's premiere of The Help inspired me to talk about this noteworthy trend of messy, fun up-dos!

Here is a 360 view of her hair from last night:)

The key to achieving this look is randomness - there is nothing precise to the 'do. It's kind of gives the of the idea that "I just kind of threw it together and it looks fabulous", which I love!  To dress it up Emma even added a little jeweled clip on the side, which adds that little thing that makes this look so special.

Nail Trend: The Two-Tone Funky Manicure

Looking to spice up your regular manicures, then look no further! There is a new trend cropping up everywhere and it is the two-tone manicure. I am not really sure who, what or why this trend has popped up, but ever since I took notice of it  -  I see it everywhere. Fellow fashionista Whitney Port has been wearing this look for a while now and she has really helped propel it into a full on trend.

So what is a two- toned manicure you ask? It is honestly so simple, pick your two favorite color combos (purple and aqua, gold and coral, white and silver... etc), then paint your nails as usual, but skip one or two on each hand to be your "stand out" nails and paint those nails the color other than the one you already used.

Here is my first attempt at this look :)

Here are some more pics:

Pics from Whitney's Blog!!!

The lovely Whitney Port at the CFDA Awards wore gold and dark purple :)

Everyone's favorite PLL, Ashley Benson wore navy and coral in a recent episode!

So what do you think, will you try this new trend?

Don't forget to Comment Below and send pics if you try out this look :)

Hair Trend: The Fishtail Braid

A not so new trend, but still going strong, especially for the summer time. When I think of summer I think of easy, relaxed, and simple, something that the fishtail braid evokes - effortless glamour. You can quickly do a loose braid for the daytime or a more cleaned up version for a night out, but regardless of how you wear it, the fishtail braid is a do!

It has been seen on the runway :)

Charlie's latest angel, Minka Kelly worked the plait at a recent event!

Blake rocked the fishtail braid in an unusual way to the L.A. Green Lantern Premiere -  and I must say I love it!

Hair Trend: The Hair Knot

Okay girls, so this summer knotted hair is in! Okay I'm not talking about having your hair tangled and unkempt, I mean literally tying your hair into a knot. Made popular after appearing in the S/S 2011 Michael Kors show, the hair knot is the perfect messy but chic 'do for the summer.

With it being so hot outside already, who really feels like styling their hair with more heat?! Not me! That's why this look works perfectly for summer. It's simple, pretty and a little undone - so no obsessing over looking perfect, it's not meant to.

Curious as to how this works? Well here are a few instructions:

1. First, spritz the hair with some sort of surf spray like Bumble and Bumble or add some waves with Garnier's Surf Hair putty.

2. Scrunch the hair with product in it to create pretty, fresh from the beach waves. Blow dry only if necessary.

3.Sweep hair to the side to create a deep side part.

4. Seperate your hair in two, and pull the sections to the back of your neck. Tie a knot with your hair, and then tie another one if you want to create a double knot like the one shown here. Then Voila! - yes it really is that easy.

Summer Jewelry Breakdown

So as the heat picks up and our ensembles are composed of less an less actual clothing, there is no better way to spice up a summer look than with great jewelry and accessories. Whether it be  bold statement pieces or subtle sparkle here is what's really hot this summer :)

1. Hammered Gold Pieces

Whether it's a bold necklace or chunky bracelet this summer is all about gold, probably because it goes really great with a tan - but I mean really don't we all want to feel like golden goddesses?

Kim K owned the trend at her DASH Miami Grand Opening

2. Turquoise and Coral

Certainly proving to be the it colors for summer - turquoise and coral pieces are the perfect way to brighten up a summer ensemble. They look fantastic on sunkissed skin or against a basic neutral outfit.

3. Feathers

We saw this trend crop up last year, but don't pack away the feathers just yet, they are here to stay this summer. With celebs like Gwyneth Paltrow and Lucy Hale rocking this trend it certainly has earned its place on this list.

Feather Earrings from Forever 21

Feather Chain Necklace: $7.80

4. Bangles

What better way to add a little pizazz to your summer looks then an armful of bangles? Whether they be skinny or chunky, bangles are taking place of the single cuff. Dress them up with a cute dress for a night out or throw them on with your slubby tanks this trend is really versatile and a summer must!

Blake loves an armful of bangles, especially by Lorraine Schwartz!

Forever 21 has great jewelry that won't break the bank!

Go Glam in Chamak Bangles

5. Mineral Jewelry

I don't know about you, but when I was little I collected pretty rocks and geodes... I know, weird right? Well anyway I am glad I held on to some of them because rock and mineral jewelry is becoming something to recognize as of late. Whether it be on cuffs or bold earrings these earthy elements well.... ROCK!

Kelly Osbourne rocked the look

Hair Trend: Bird's Nest Hair Bun

A look taken from the Chanel pre-Fall 2011 show (pictured below) - the bird's nest bun has been seen everywhere recently from the catwalk to the red capet to the supermarket? Eh, well maybe not there. The look certainly differs from that of the typical ballerina knot but CAUTION! - Only wear this look with confidence, it is quite the attention grabber.

Here are some more examples!!!

My take on the look ...and a tamer version I might add
